Encouragement has been proven to stimulate learners’ academic progress and development (Alcott, 2015). However, it appears that those learners who truly need encouragement the most seldom receive it. This study aims to differentiate encouragement from praise, persuasion and motivation, and how to provide encouragement to learners.
